ABOUT US

"We have a unique situation, where both of our callings can be carried out in Chiang Mai."  Matt will be serving at Mango House Orphanage and Sarah at The Well International.

Matt- Looking back, I am truly blown away by God’s sovereignty and providence in my life.  I can see how He has been setting up my journey to be a missionary. First, God gave me a desire to share the Gospel and share the love of God with youth especially those who are marginalized and neglected both here in the states and abroad.  Second, God provided me with a wife who is supportive and challenging. Third, God gave me the opportunity to meet and build a relationship with Missionary Danny Jung in Thailand many years ago. And finally, God provided me with a community at, GCC, where I received training, discipline, and restoration from past sin and hurt.

After all of these years, God is now sending me and Sarah to Thailand to do Kingdom Work! I will be serving at Mango House Orphanage with my longtime friend, Missionary Danny Jung.  Something special about Mango House is that most of the kids are Burmese Hill tribe refugees.  Vision for Mango House is twofold: Education and Discipleship. At Mango House I will have a variety of responsibilities including assisting with day-to-day operations, starting a Friday night youth program, leading discipleship and teaching English to the Mango House kids.  I will also be learning Thai.

Sarah - I remember when I was in junior high school I wanted to become a psychologist.  As I got older, my desire to enter into the mental health field diminished.  After graduating college, I changed my mind and decided not to pursue counseling.  Instead, I got a job in the legal field and I was miserable.  As I worked as a paralegal, I felt that God wanted me to return to school for a counseling degree. I enrolled in a counseling program at Liberty University and it was difficult. What got me through the program was the belief that God wanted me in school.  I also continued to remind myself that God was going to do something with my degree, whatever it may be, however it may look.

In 2014, doors opened for Matt and I to enter missions; field full-time. God fulfilled his promise to me by offering me an opportunity to use my counseling degree in Chiang Mai.  I will be joining The Well International, a Christian counseling center servicing missionaries and their families. At The Well, I will be a staff counselor and will also travel throughout SE Asia to provide assistance and education to those that provide member care to missionaries.  There was much uncertainty throughout the past several years about our future, but now I am able to see the big picture a little more clearly. I am excited about this endeavor in my life and grateful of God’s plan and His weaving of my life in His plan.
